A little bit about me…

Hi – I’m Margaret – founder of Desk101

With over 25 years of experience supporting businesses across HR, recruitment, business administration and learning & development, I launched Desk101 in 2022 to provide practical, reliable support that genuinely makes life easier for business owners.

My career began in the leisure and hospitality industry – a world that took me on quite the adventure, living and working across England, Scotland and Wales. It was fast-paced, people-focused and rarely predictable, which is probably where I developed my love of finding order in the chaos! Those years shaped the way I work today: stepping in quickly, reading a room, and getting things done with a smile.

At home, life is calmer – I share it with my family and our two cats, Alvin and Izzy, who between them keep life interesting and never let me take myself too seriously.

My approach is simple. I step in, understand what’s really happening, put clear solutions in place, support the team through change, and leave businesses confident and in control. My goal is always to build systems, introduce processes and ways of working that last long after my work is done.

Clients often describe me as professional, organised and easy to work with – someone who brings calm, structure and dependable support when things feel overwhelming. I take pride in being open, honest and solutions-focused, and I care deeply about helping businesses run smoothly so owners can focus on what they do best.

And when I let myself daydream? I’m sitting outside a little house somewhere on the Southwest coast of France, sunshine on my face and a cold glass of something in hand. France holds a very special place in my heart and that coastline is amazing…one day perhaps, but until then, if you’d like some support, or simply a conversation about where things feel stuck, I’d love to hear from you.
